Today I Learned About Cobras

Cobras live in Africa, Australia and Southern Asia.  These cold-blooded animals need heat from their surroundings to keep them warm.  Cobras lay their eggs in a nest to help keep them warm.

They have venom in their fangs to protect themselves from predators.  When they are threatened cobras put out their hood to make themselves look bigger.  Cobras have enough venom in their body to kill a whole elephant!

Most cobras eat small creatures like rats, lizards and birds.

I like the baby cobras the best; they are so cute.
